Important clauses
Romanian law (art. 1203 of the Civil Code) requires some clauses to be accepted expressly. By ticking the box at sign-up you expressly accept these, in addition to the rest of the Terms:
- Limitation of liability — our liability is limited as described in section 12, never for intent or gross negligence, and never against mandatory consumer rights.
- AI and third-party content without guarantee — outputs are automated triage signals that can be incomplete or wrong (section 8).
- No guaranteed availability during the pilot; features may change and pilot access may end (sections 3 and 11).
- Suspension and termination by us in the cases in section 13.
- Changes to these Terms with prior notice (section 14).
- Romanian law and Romanian courts (section 15), without removing the protections consumers have where they live.
1. Who we are
Veruno is operated by Octavian Andrei Cincă, a natural person based in Târgu Jiu, Gorj County, Romania. Contact: contact@veruno.eu. More details are in the Legal notice.
2. The service
Veruno is an online platform for triaging claims: it gathers coverage, registry records, earlier fact-checks and image signals, and helps a team organize the evidence (Claim Radar, Verify Source, Geo Lens, Targeted News, Workspace). It helps people decide where to look; it does not decide what is true.
3. Private pilot
- Veruno is in a private pilot. Accounts are created by invitation only (an invitation from us or from an organization's administrator).
- Features, limits and prices may change during the pilot. We will tell you about changes that affect you.
- Pilot access may be free and may end; we give at least 14 days' notice when we can, and you can export your data before it ends (section 13).
4. Who can use Veruno
You must be at least 16. If you use Veruno for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf; the organization is then bound by them.
5. Accounts and security
- Keep your password secret and tell us at once if you suspect someone else used your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it was caused by our fault.
- An organization's owners and administrators decide who joins it and are responsible for their members' use of the organization's workspace and tokens.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- upload or process unlawful content, or content you have no right to use;
- use Veruno to harass, stalk, profile or surveil individuals;
- try to breach or test our security without our written permission, or access other organizations' data;
- scrape the service, reverse-engineer it, or overload it (including automated requests that bypass the interface);
- resell or sublicense access, or share accounts;
- use Veruno in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others, including privacy and copyright.
7. Your content
- You (or your organization) keep ownership of what you upload and create.
- You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process and display that content only to run the service for you, including sending it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy.
- You confirm you have the rights and, where needed, a legal basis to upload and process it, including personal data of other people.
- Feedback you choose to publish on our website is shown with your name only after our approval; you can ask us to remove it.
8. AI and third-party sources
- Parts of reports are written by AI and labelled AI-generated. All outputs are automated triage signals: they can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. They are not verdicts, not legal or professional advice, and not proof.
- Editorial and other decisions remain yours. Check the sources yourself before you publish or act.
- News articles, fact-checks, registry records and other third-party content belong to their owners. We show short excerpts and links; we do not guarantee their accuracy or availability, and news data is kept only for a limited time under our licence.
9. Plans, tokens and fees
- Paid terms apply only once a paid plan has been agreed with your organization and activated. Pilot access can be free.
- Paid actions use tokens from your organization's monthly allowance; each paid button shows its cost before you use it. Sample or failed results are not charged.
- Unused tokens do not roll over to the next month; first-month bonus tokens expire at the end of the first month. Tokens have no cash value.
- Prices and invoicing are agreed in writing (by email or invoice). Prices on our website may change; a change applies to your organization only after notice.
10. Our intellectual property
The software, design, texts and brand of Veruno belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a right to use the service, not ownership of it.
11. Availability
During the pilot we do not guarantee any uptime. We work to keep Veruno available and secure, but there can be interruptions for maintenance, failures of our providers, or reasons outside our control. Providers we rely on (news, search, image checks) can be unavailable; Veruno then tells you that a part could not be checked instead of inventing results.
12. Liability
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses (such as lost profit, lost data you could have exported, or reputational harm) or for decisions taken on the basis of Veruno's outputs.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amounts your organization paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100 if nothing was paid.
- These limits never apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence (art. 1355 of the Civil Code), to death or personal injury, or to rights that consumers have under mandatory law.
13. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using Veruno and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account).
- We may suspend or close an account or organization, with notice where possible, if these Terms are seriously breached, if required by law, to protect the service or other users, or when the pilot ends.
- Before an account or the pilot ends (except for serious breaches), you can export your workspace (PDF reports) and ask us for a copy of your data. Afterwards, data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We give at least 14 days' notice of significant changes by email or in the app. If you do not agree, you can stop using Veruno before they take effect; continuing to use it afterwards means you accept the new version. The date and version are shown at the top.
15. Governing law and disputes
- These Terms are governed by Romanian law, including the Civil Code and Law 365/2002 on electronic commerce; where you are a consumer, also Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014 and Law 193/2000.
- Disputes go to the competent courts of Romania. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of the country where you live and can go to the courts there.
- Consumers can also contact ANPC (Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor, anpc.ro) and the alternative dispute resolution (SAL) entities it lists.
- Please write to us first; most problems can be solved quickly.
16. Contact
contact@veruno.eu. Personal data is covered by the Privacy Policy; data your organization puts in its workspace is covered by the Data Processing Addendum, which is part of these Terms.
